Cocktail Classic: Sweet Martini

I love simple cocktails, especially when it comes to a martini. While I usually prefer a good ole dirty martini, I couldn't resist the simplicity of the Sweet Martini. What can I say; I'm a sucker for a cherry....

SWEET MARTINI (from Cocktail Classics by David Biggs page 27)

source

Ice cubes
1 part Gin
1 part Sweet Vermouth
Cocktail Cherries

Place about 8 ice cubes in a mixing glass. Add gin and vermouth. Stir well and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with cocktail cherry.

** The author of this book notes that you shouldn't be so concerned with how big a "part" is. Whether you consider a "part" to be a teaspoon, a tablespoon, a cup, etc ... it should not matter. As long as you always keep your "part" the same, your proportions will always be the same. Therefore, your drink will always taste the same. Just a little food for thought I thought you may enjoy**

Happy Hump Day! :)
