Martini, Martini... did I mention martini?

Hey, there puuuuurrrty ladies! Hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving. I know I did. I spent the day stuffing my face with my hunny bunny's mother's broccoli cheese casserole. (If you don't like veggies-don't worry. With as much cheese and other crap that's in the casserole, you'd never even notice the veggies existed!)
Okay, okay.. let me get to the martini's! (Woohoo!) This week, I've got lots of tasty recipes...

Godiva Chocolate Martini & Pineapple Upside Down Cake Martini

Yes, this is the actual pineapple upside down cake martini we made.

This is from Big Sis' Blog,"Yummies for my Tummies"

This week I'm sharing these recipes from my lovely Big Sis. She made these for us gals during a recent scrapbook night at her house. Trust me, I taste-tested them ALL myself. (Not to mention a repeat of my Wedding Cake Martini- which is in still in with the alcoholic recipes in the left column of my blog. )They're great! Needless to say, we didn't get much scrapbooking done.

Try these at your next girls' night. I hope you enjoy them as much as we did. Plus check out the shrimp recipe she made... one word-AMAZING!!!

Hope you all have a great week!:)

Thanksgiving Sangria

It that time of year again-the time of year when you sit around the table with family and friends. You've completely stuffed yourself with turkey, mashed potatoes, and pie... and you have just unbuttoned the top button of your pants. You've eaten so much you think you are either going to burst or drop into a carb-induced coma on the couch. While I would normally post some delicious holiday inspired drink, I thought this time I'd try something else-a summer inspired drink! The last thing your want after you've eaten a massive meal is to add a thick, heavy drink. So, to lighten your load.. here's a refreshing option for your holiday get-together...

foodnetwork.com

SANGRIA PEREA ... a Guy Fieri recipe from foodnetwork.com
3 c. Ice cubes
1/4 c. Lemon slices
1/4 c. Lime slices
1/4 c. Oranges slices
1/4 c. Pineapple Chunks
1/4 c. Seedless Grapes
2 c. Red Wine
1/2 c. Peach Brandy
1 c. Orange Juice
1 c. Lemon/Lime Soda

In a large pitcher, add all ingredients and stir to combine. Best served, after about an hour when fruit and wine have had time to infuse each other.

I hope you all enjoy. Most of all, I hope you all have a fantastic Thanksgiving and enjoy your time with those you love the most.

Happy Thanksgiving! What are you thankful for this year?

Cupcake Martini Recipe

Hello, loves! For those of you that asked- yes, the Halloween wedding was fabulous. Once I steal my camera back from HB I'll be sure to post pictures. In the meantime- I got on today and saw I had a little surprise waiting for me.....

This lovely little thing comes to me from the Daily tribal. If you haven't been to this blog before, you're missing out. You will crack the heck up. Her "Sexy Cupcake Saturdays" will surely make you laugh and be hungry all at the same time.

So in honor of Daily Tribal and her Cupcake Saturdays, I thought I'd share this one with you...

hostessblog.com (you have got to check out this blog, too- so many great ideas)

CUPCAKE MARTINI ... from idrink.com

1/2 c. Vanilla Vodka

1/2 c. Sprite, 7up, or Sierra Mist (or another lemon lime drink of your choice)

Fill your favorite cocktail glass half full with ice. Add vodka. Pour in Sprite- FROM 1/2 a FT ABOVE THE COCKTAIL GLASS. (This is supposed to help mix it, or something.) Stir for 10 seconds and serve immediately.

Ok, gals... I've never tried this one before, so you have to let me know how it is. You also have to tell me if it really matters whether or not you pour it from 1/2 ft above the glass... cuz I don't want to look like an idiot doing that! hehe

btw... OceanDreams.. I plan on finding some tasty drinks for you for Thanksgiving!

Have a great weekend, everybody!

Witch's Tit cocktail recipe

Despite the fact we have been having a snowstorm the past 2 days here in Happy Valley (and it is still continuing into tomorrow... on into Penn State's homecoming day), I will try to remain calm. Yes, it's true that we already have 2 inches of snow and a chance of 4-8 inches tonight. That's right, you read that correctly -S.N.O.W! And, it's supposed to be Halloween soon, right? Someone please explain how all of that goes together! But in honor of the spirit of Halloween, I thought I'd share a little cocktail to set the mood for the rest of you, as I dig myself out of the snow mounds. So, this one's for all of you...

reflector.com

Witch's Tit (alcoholic) ...from one of my fav sites drinksmixer.com

2.5 oz Kahlua Coffee Liqueur
.5 oz. Heavy Cream
1 Maraschino Cherry
Pour Kahlua into shot glass or pousse cafe glass.* Carefully float the cream on top by pouring it over the back of a spoon. Place the cherry in the center. Enjoy.

*If you aren't sure what a pousse cafe glass is (I know I had to look it up), I guess this is what it looks like..

gourmet.com

Or like this one...

bardrinks.ca

And from what I understand, pousse cafe drinks are drinks that are carefully layered, starting with the most dense to the least. (See, and you thought you were just going to get drinks on this blog. Who would have thought you might learn something, too?!)

Hope you all enjoy this tasty Halloween treat!

I believe proceeds from this book go to breast cancer research.

Think Pink Month

We all have dreams of the women we will one day become. We dream about our jobs, our families, an even occassionally dreaming we will become the next American Idol, as we belt out a tune in the shower. For some women, this dream can be altered by the earth shattering reality of hearing "You have breast cancer." For these women, many dreams fall to the wayside, as dreams of survival take over. It's scary. It's unfair. It's something that no woman should ever have to deal with.

While I am blessed to never have had to deal with such an ordeal in my family, I know there are so many other women who are finding the strength each day fight against incredible odds. I talk with them each day as they come into work for chemo treatments. Their bravery inspires me.
So, in honor of these incredible women, I ask you all to join in on "Think Pink" Breast Cancer Awareness month. In towns and cities all over, there are programs and activities to raise money for breast cancer research. If you can't find one in your area... consider creating your own pink pajama party night. Invite friends and loved ones for an evening of sharing in the celebration of life and dreams... because every woman deserves to see her dreams come true.

To all of you incredible women, may you never forget just how strong and beautiful you are!
