Candy Bar Cockatils

Who doesn't love a good candy bar? I know I do. They stare at me while I wait in the checkout line at the grocery store, as I attempt to not be interested in them. As I make my way to the register with just what I intended to pick up- a few taco shells and some salsa for a taco night, they stare back at me with their tasty looking labels, their sweet caramel taunting me.......sorry, I got lost in the moment, there.

Chocolate Covered Raspberry Martini

How many of you love girls' night?! Woohoo! Now, how many of you love a girl's night, alone? Sometimes there is nothing I love more than snuggling into my flannel jammies and throwing on my snuggie (Yes, I own one. Don't judge it until you have one, hehehe). I stick in a chick flick (SATC is always a good choice), sit back and enjoy -No boy to ask me for the zillionth time why I find Carrie, Samantha, and the rest of the girls so entertaining...No one to bother me. It's just me, all snuggled into the couch with a mask on my face, a great movie, and a cocktail in my hand.
Ahhh, c'est la vie!
Today's cocktail is just for you to enjoy... and no, please don't even consider to count the calories in this little darling.

Mallrat/Pineapple Julius Recipe

At the age of 13, I can remember spending every friggin' Saturday doing the same thing-going to the mall. Somehow, someway I managed to spend almost 8 hours there without running out of the $20 bill that I was given from my allowance. (Oh, if I could only do that now!) Back then, the mall was less about the actual act of shopping, and more of a social ritual. Yes, you know what I'm talking about! I remember dolling myself up in the morning, with my finest "Rave" and "Deb" clothes and then sitting the rest of the afternoon at the lunch courtyard hoping to be hit on by some hot teenie bopper boy... too bad they were more interested in the arcade. Ahh, the memories...doesn't it just take you back?

So, in honor of those tween memories, I share with you one of the drinks I could NEVER EVER leave the mall without having...

PINEAPPLE JULIUS... from recipezaar.com (one of my fav sites of all time)

(makes two shakes)
8 oz. Can Pineapple in Juice
2 Egg Whites (Gross, but true!)
3/4 tsp. Vanilla Extract
1/4 c. Sugar
1 c. Crushed Ice

Combine all ingredients in a blender (set on high) for one minute.

So, gals, take a trip down memory lane, enjoy, and remember your innocent Mall rat days. What was your favorite thing to do at the mall in your tween years?

Hawaiian Dream cocktail

I was recently asked why on this blessed earth I have an entire blog dedicated to drinks... well, gang, the truth is that the greatest memories of my life have involved sitting around a table with a drink in my hand (And no, surprisingly, not usually with an alocholic one.) Think about it- whether sitting at a restaurant with girlfriends or sitting around the table after a big meal (when all of the dishes have been cleared) with my family, or out with HB.. some of the greatest conversations of my life have involved those moments. Sharing fears. Celebrating a baby shower (with that tasty punch that has the plastic baby floating in the ice). Having a night out with my honey. Some of life greatest moments occur when the rest of the world slows down for a moment, and nothing remains but a good conversation and some tasty little number keeping your whistle wet. Nerdy, but true. Ok, ok... enough of my gabbing....

In the spirit of those cherished moments, I share with you a new tasty concoction....

Hot Buttered Rum Christmas Cocktail

Merry Christmas!
I know, I know.. I vanished off the face of the earth. With the craziness of the holidays, blogworld had to take a back seat (and I'm talking about the seat WAY in the back), unfortunately. But the good news is that I have emerged just in time to toast to you a tasty Christmas cocktail. Feel free to serve it to Santa when he drops by...

HOT BUTTERED RUM COCKTAIL... from Emeril on thefoodnetwork.com (you know I love my food network!!)

1 Stick Unsalted Butter, softened
2 c. Light Brown Sugar
1 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
1/2 tsp. Grated Nutmeg
Pinch Ground cloves
Pinch Salt
Bottle Dark Rum
Boiling Water

In a bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt. Refrigerate until almost firm. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the butter mixture into 12 small mugs. Pour about 3 ounces of rum into each mug (filling about halfway). Top with boiling water (to fill the remaining half), stir well, and serve immediately

Yum, Yum.. I hope you enjoy. More importantly, I hope you enjoy your time with loved ones.

Martini, Martini... did I mention martini?

Hey, there puuuuurrrty ladies! Hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving. I know I did. I spent the day stuffing my face with my hunny bunny's mother's broccoli cheese casserole. (If you don't like veggies-don't worry. With as much cheese and other crap that's in the casserole, you'd never even notice the veggies existed!)
Okay, okay.. let me get to the martini's! (Woohoo!) This week, I've got lots of tasty recipes...

Godiva Chocolate Martini & Pineapple Upside Down Cake Martini

Yes, this is the actual pineapple upside down cake martini we made.

This is from Big Sis' Blog,"Yummies for my Tummies"

This week I'm sharing these recipes from my lovely Big Sis. She made these for us gals during a recent scrapbook night at her house. Trust me, I taste-tested them ALL myself. (Not to mention a repeat of my Wedding Cake Martini- which is in still in with the alcoholic recipes in the left column of my blog. )They're great! Needless to say, we didn't get much scrapbooking done.

Try these at your next girls' night. I hope you enjoy them as much as we did. Plus check out the shrimp recipe she made... one word-AMAZING!!!

Hope you all have a great week!:)

Thanksgiving Sangria

It that time of year again-the time of year when you sit around the table with family and friends. You've completely stuffed yourself with turkey, mashed potatoes, and pie... and you have just unbuttoned the top button of your pants. You've eaten so much you think you are either going to burst or drop into a carb-induced coma on the couch. While I would normally post some delicious holiday inspired drink, I thought this time I'd try something else-a summer inspired drink! The last thing your want after you've eaten a massive meal is to add a thick, heavy drink. So, to lighten your load.. here's a refreshing option for your holiday get-together...

foodnetwork.com

SANGRIA PEREA ... a Guy Fieri recipe from foodnetwork.com
3 c. Ice cubes
1/4 c. Lemon slices
1/4 c. Lime slices
1/4 c. Oranges slices
1/4 c. Pineapple Chunks
1/4 c. Seedless Grapes
2 c. Red Wine
1/2 c. Peach Brandy
1 c. Orange Juice
1 c. Lemon/Lime Soda

In a large pitcher, add all ingredients and stir to combine. Best served, after about an hour when fruit and wine have had time to infuse each other.

I hope you all enjoy. Most of all, I hope you all have a fantastic Thanksgiving and enjoy your time with those you love the most.

Happy Thanksgiving! What are you thankful for this year?
